Hello all. Apologies for the radio silence. I have actually written two blog posts but have not published either. I am still refining the concept. The lack of any kind of post is getting ridiculous, so I’ll give a simple rundown of what I’ve been working on.

WSO – nope

I did enter the Watercolor Society of Oregon (WSO) fall show, but did not get in. I entered these two pieces.

I like them and so I’m just going to think the juror is… misguided.

AAEA – nope

I also entered three pieces in the American Academy of Equine Art (AAEA). They did not get in in. It’s competitive. I was very happy to see some of my friends get in!

New Paintings

I started this section, then looked through my phone. Then my desk. I only have a few new paintings to show. This is not because I haven’t been working. It’s because I am working on two separate projects that I don’t want to show right now. Maybe there is a reason I haven’t posted…?

Every once in a while, I want to create a painting in a specific way. In this case, I wanted to create a very light painting. I’m pleased with the results.

“Above It All” – 15″ X 11″ watercolor on Arches paper

The following two paintings aren’t really paintings; they are painting starts. I was playing around and these emerged. I have plans for their next stage.

And while it is not a painting, I did create this little pen drawing of a yellow-faced bumble bee.

“Furry Friend”

For right now, that will have to do. I hope to have more progress on the other projects to show or to finish my blog posts. SOMETHING to show!
